Materials
White or off-white tab curtains
Staple gun
24” x 24” frosted mylar
Spray adhesive
Craft knife
Project Steps
Staple curtain to the wall with staple gun and stretch so that it is slightly tight.
With mist sprayer, spray curtain with water so that it is slightly damp. Concentrate on the creases and wrinkles and let dry. This process will help remove wrinkles and give you a flat surface to spray on.
To create your large circle stencil, use anything circular, trace a circle onto the rough frosted mylar side and cut out circle with a craft knife. For example a two and a half gallon container. The circle should be approx 10-12 inches diameter.
Prepare your stencil by lightly spraying the back side (smooth side) with spray adhesive.
Let adhesive become tacky before placing it onto fabric. Your pattern/layout can be free form or specific. You will find that this design does not need to be exact to be successful.
Now that you have placed the stencil on the fabric, spray cut out area with Rust-Oleum Professional Safety Red Enamel spay paint. Continue to move stencil to areas that can be sprayed while others are drying.
Re-coat as required to completely cover fabric making sure not to over spray causing runs.
Follow step 3 to create your smaller circle stencil using the cap to your spray can as a template.
To finish your print by adding yellow follow steps 4& 5 making sure the red is dry before spraying Rust-Oleum Professional High Performance Enamel Safety Yellow over the red circle.
Note: You can use any color combo or patterns you desire. You will also notice when hung in a window with light shining through it will have the essence of tie dye. This is a great look for kids' rooms or bonus rooms!
