Materials
Plastic indoor/outdoor chair (or a set of chairs), any shape or size
Drop cloth or newspaper
Delicate Surface painter
Masking paper
Ruler
Level
Pencil
Project Steps
Find a workspace outside or someplace safe to use spray paint.
Lay drop cloth/newspaper on ground to protect it from spray.
Cover nearby objects with drop cloths or old sheets to protect them from spray mist.
Spray the entire chair with an even coat of Rust-Oleum Paint for Plastic Black. Follow directions on can. Let dry.
Once dry, find the center of the chair back using a ruler. From the center point, measure an equal distance from the top, bottom and sides in order to create a square. The size of the square will depend on the size of the chair back.
Draw an outline of the square lightly with pencil, using the ruler to make sure it is centered and lines are straight. If you want to double-check the straightness of the lines, use a level.
Tape off the square along the outer edge of the pencil outline. Make sure that the pencil marks are on the inside to assure that they will be covered by the next coat of paint.
Once the square has been taped off, cover all of the chair’s exposed sections with masking paper, leaving just the square visible and ready to paint.
Spray the inside of the square with Rust-Oleum Paint for Plastic White.
Allow to dry completely. Carefully remove all tape and masking paper from the chair.
Design Idea: Any pattern could work on the chair back. Try a circle, your monogram or even an interesting stencil.
