Materials
Small waste basket
Old sheets or plastic drop cloths
Sandpaper
Low tack masking tape
Small craft brush
Project Steps
Choose a well-ventilated area (preferably outside) and cover nearby objects to protect them from spray mist.
Rough up surface and remove any old or loose paint with a good sanding. Remove residue with soap and water, rinse and let dry.
Mask off harlequin grid with masking tape. Or make your own design...you can do anything you want to!
Use American Accents Primer to help the final details adhere a little better.
Apply Painter’s Touch Midnight Blue spray paint according to directions on package. Reapply as needed. When paint is fully dry, remove the masking tape.
Crack open a can of American Accents Gold Metallic paint WITHOUT SHAKING it. Pour off half the solvent (top gooey stuff) so all that’s left is the pigment (color). This makes it a super thick gold. Stir paint and use a small craft brush to hand paint.
Find some garbage worthy of your stylish new wastebasket and toss away!
